In keeping with the Baratheons' much-loved doctrine of the heaviest possible armour, the equipment of the Lightbearers of R`hllor consists of a scaly shirt and a plate helmet. This makes them more resistant to direct attacks than any other archer unit. The extra protection comes in handy when using their most dangerous weapon - fire. The arrowheads of the Lightbearers are dipped in oil and set on fire just before they are fired. The oil is viscous and, although it burns off quickly, those hit by such projectiles instantly burst into flames.
