At Stannis Baratheon's court, the Queen's Men are referred to by this name not because of their particular devotion to Queen Selyse, but because of their conversion to the faith of R`hllor (although some speculate that they are most loyal to the Red Priestess Melisandre). The Queen's men are heavily armoured, elite line troops, capable of blunting almost any enemy assault. Although characterised by the traditional slowness of heavy infantry, few troops are better suited to holding the centre of the battlefield.
