At Stannis Baratheon's court, the Queen's Men are referred to by this name not because of their special devotion to Queen Selyse, but because of their conversion to the faith of R`hllor (though some speculate that they are most loyal to the Red Priestess Melisandre). The Queen's men are heavily armored, elite line troops, capable of blunting almost any enemy assault. Although they are characterized by the traditional slowness of heavy infantry, few troops are better suited to holding the center of the battlefield.
