LICTOR (MO)

Lictors move first before the Tyranid ground forces, surveying the terrain and reporting to the Swarm Mind. Unusually for Tyranid organisms, their first instinct is not to eat, but rather to hide in the shadows, out of sight and mind. They hunt marauders and patrolling troops, using their whiskers to crack skulls and absorb information directly from the brain. Lictors transmit this information in the form of a trail of pheromones, which they leave behind to direct those following the Tyranids to their proper targets. A face-to-face encounter with a Lictor is unlikely, as they are most often already behind you.
