Necromancers are widely regarded as twisted and corrupt individuals who are obsessed with death and avoiding it at all costs. They are used (as they are rarely their own master) by Vampires to reanimate the shattered corpses of their servants and bring them back into battle. To learn this dark magic, these desperate people seek out a Necromancer or Vampire to teach them, though this task is not without its dangers and many aspirants have died a grim death at the hands (or fangs) of their would-be teacher. Those who survive invariably become powerful spell masters, though their sanity is forever broken by the horrors they have witnessed.
