The horsemen of the Dothraki advance guard as scouts could be replaced by many members of the khalasar. Once the battle begins, however, they show why enemies consider them a deadly threat: they can attack with great accuracy from a distance while remaining in their saddles. While typical archers usually move on foot, the ability to strike from a distance and move quickly away on mounts gives the Dothraki an advantage that can only be offset by enemy cavalry or riflemen. Remember, however, that the Dothraki advance guard should remain on the move at all times.
